ACC Sunday at The Evangelical Church of Aomori
The Evangelical Church of Aomori (ECA) was planted by TEAM missionaries in the early 1950s and has been a major supporting church of the Aomori Christian Centre (ACC) ever since its beginnings as the Kominato Bible Camp in 1956. Luke attended here when he was grade one, and it is the church we attend as a family now, when we aren't away on an ACC Sunday church visit. ECA is currently exploring the several options of rebuilding, relocating, or renting. Please pray for wisdom as they seek a way forward. Their current building was built many decades ago on the site of OMF Japan's former field headquarters (later moved to Sapporo and then to Ichikawa). Half of the building is now unusable, and the other half is proving too expensive to maintain.

This Sunday we had the opportunity to visit Hirosaki Evangelical Church for an ACC Sunday. It was good to see a strong turnout from the Hirosaki University KGK (IVCF) members. After the service we had a very good ACC Connect session (PowerPoint with Q & A) with many good questions. May this be the beginning of regular and fruitful communication that will make the Aomori Christian Center "our Center" to many in Aomori Prefecture.

Time flies, as we hustle to prepare for winter, and a week has already passed since our visit to Tsugaru Gospel Church's Itayanagi Chapel for an ACC Sunday (Oct. 11). After doing the children's story and a PowerPoint presentation on ACC, Luke preached the first sermon in his evangelistic Apostles' Creed series. Then we stayed for lunch and a good chat. Many thanks for the folks of Tsugaru Gospel Church for a wonderful time!

The second ACC Sunday of our Sapporo trip was September 27 at Satsunae Lighthouse Church, one of our main supporting churches in Japan. This is the church of which Yuko was a founding member when she first returned from Bible college in the US. It was also Yuko's first time working with OMF missionaries. We are truly grateful for their longtime support of our journey to and ministry at ACC.

Last Sunday we had the opportunity to do an ACC Sunday at the Evangelical Church of Aomori where we now attend when not away visiting other churches. Luke spent a year at this church as a six-year-old when his parents were assigned to work there back in 1983. There were a few teary eyes among the church matriarchs who remembered "Ruka-chan" sitting in the front pew next to his father when it was his father's turn to preach.
After Luke preached, we sat down to lunch and hosted "ACC Connect," a Q&A forum meant to open channels of communication between ACC and local congregations and to cultivate a sense of ownership among local believers.
