Overview

While the Aomori Christian Centre is operated by a board of directors consisting of local pastors and lay Christians it does not exist as an independent legal entity and the property is still owned by TEAM.  TEAM ceased work in northern Japan a few decades ago but the mission has generously retained legal ownership and responsibility for the property with the understanding that the ACC board will eventually take steps that will enable them to take legal possession of the property and all its facilities.  In order to do this it will be necessary for the board to register as a religious organization under Japanese law.

PLEASE PRAY FOR A FULL TIME DIRECTOR FOR THE ACC

In order to register as a religious organization the ACC will need a constitution and a legally responsible director ("person in charge").  Formulating a legally viable constitution will require a degree of time and expertise that the ACC board is not currently able to provide.  Also, none of the members of the board are in a position to be able to accept the role of director due to existing commitments and responsibilities.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE RESOURCES TO LEGALIZE THE ACCESS ROAD

The Access Road in Spring
In order for the ACC to register as a religious organization it will need to construct an access road that meets fire code.  The current access road is not only falling into disrepair but is too narrow.  In order to expand the road to meet regulation it will be necessary to purchase additional strips of land on either side.  Also, the road dips into a valley, at the bottom of which is a brook that serves as one of Aomori City's water sources.  The brook is bridged by a culvert and causeway put in place by missionaries back in the 1960s but is in serious need of repair.

PLEASE PRAY FOR RESOURCES TO REFURBISH THE BUILDINGS

The Lord provided the resources to rebuild the main building over a decade ago.  There is an annual need for snow damage repair but this has been successfully covered to date by insurance and in-house repairs.  However, the building could use a "face lift" in order to make it a more attractive destination for potential campers and outside organizations.
Joy Cabin is now decades old and is currently being used as a warehouse.  It needs to be refurbished before it can be put back to its proper use as accommodation for campers.
Peace Cabin is a family friendly unit with a kitchen-dining room and bath.  It also is quite old and needs to be refurbished in order to fulfill its great potential.  (This is where Luke and his family lived during the winter-camp season back in the 1980s when his father was responsible for snow clearing.)
The Staff House has been vacant since the ACC's long-serving caretaker retired for health reasons and needs to be maintained until such time as the Lord provides a full time director to live in it.
